Where is JRC

Located on 500 acres bordering the majestic Sequoia National Forest, Jameson Ranch is 6.2 miles from Glennville on Highway 155. We are approximately 150 miles north of L.A. (a 3 hour drive), and approximately 280 miles south of San Francisco (a 5-6 hour drive from the bay area). Our elevation is 4,600 feet.

Our Community at Camp

Children have always been a part of life on this land and we continue to see them thrive when connected to a positive community and good fellowship. We value honesty, integrity, self-respect and respect for others, and we expect campers to act according to these values. As children become adults, their camp experiences become tools for successful living.

Our Wholesome Lifestyle

We also believe in self sufficiency. Our pace of life is connected with the sunshine of each day and we celebrate and create life's happenings. Growing our own food, singing our songs, tending the animals, playing and working together, all help to develop a caring community where each person is an important part of the whole. Campers know they are contributing to fresh bread for dinner when they gather wood for the outdoor oven. In today's high tech society, it is rare to sleep outside, gather eggs, and pitch hay to calves. Here at camp, this wholesome lifestyle continues from generation to generation.

Our Quality Staff

We feel the most important element of a camp experience is the positive interaction between children and counselors. For this reason, the fine people who work here at Jameson Ranch are personally interviewed and selected for their maturity, enthusiasm, skills, and interest in working with children. To insure that each child receives the attention she/he needs, we maintain a camper to staff ratio of 5 to 1. Our staff is from colleges and universities throughout the United States and abroad.
